Your work environment

Blauwtrust Group (BTG) connects supply and demand in the Dutch housing market for mortgage financing through its entities De Hypothekers Associatie (DHA), ROMEO, Quion and Dutch Mortgage Portfolio Management (DMPM). Together, they serve the entire Dutch mortgage chain, from consumer to investor. With more than 30 years of experience, the group has built a solid position in the Dutch mortgage market.

As Legal Counsel, you will work in a team of 7 FTEs. The Legal Counsel is part of the BTG Legal Team and reports hierarchically to the General Counsel & Director Facilities.

What will you do?

As Legal Counsel, you are the expert in the field of legal advice. You provide solicited and unsolicited advice on the affairs of Blauwtrust Group and its subsidiaries. Group activities include consumer financial advice and mediation, mortgage lending and administration and portfolio management. Our portfolio contains 350,000 mortgage files from national and international financial institutions with a total value of over 70 billion euros and is supervised by the AFM. In a nutshell, as Legal Counsel:

• Work within a professional and enthusiastic legal team;
  
• Advise and support you in the field of contract law and financial law;
  
• You proactively identify (potential) legal risks related to contract partners and business processes;
  
• Represent and/or support the organization during (legal) negotiations with corporate clients, suppliers and private clients;
  
• Take care of the content and design of model documents and model contracts;
  
• Contribute to proper complaint handling and dispute resolution;
  
• Contribute to legal risk awareness and visibility of the Legal Team within the organization;
  
• Work closely with the business, Risk, Compliance & Privacy and Internal Audit, both at BTG and subsidiary level.
  

What do you need for this position?

As Legal Counsel you will combine your critical and independent view with a proactive 'hands-on' mentality. You are a team player and know how to set the right tone with a change-oriented mindset.

In addition:

• Do you have a completed academic master's degree in Dutch Law;
  
• Do you have an affinity with contract law and the financial sector;
  
• Are you pragmatic and think in solutions;
  
• Do you have strong writing skills, with an eye for detail and analytical capabilities;
  
• Do you have excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
