Your work environment Blauwtrust Group (BTG) connects supply and demand in the Dutch housing market for mortgage financing through its entities ROMEO, Quion and Dutch Mortgage Portfolio Management (DMPM). Together, they serve the entire Dutch mortgage chain, from consumer to investor. With more than 30 years of experience, the group has built a solid position in the Dutch mortgage market. Group activities include consumer financial advice and intermediation, mortgage lending and administration, and portfolio management. Our portfolio contains 350,000 mortgage files of national and international financial institutions with a total value of over 70 billion euros and is supervised by the AFM.
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will work in a team of 8 FTEs. The Senior Legal Counsel is part of the BTG Legal Team and reports hierarchically to the General Counsel & Director Facilities.
What will you do?
As Senior Legal Counsel you are the legal expert on ICT contracts and related issues. You proactively advise on legal aspects affecting BTG and its subsidiaries and have a voice in strategic decisions. Your focus within the Legal Team is on ICT and on negotiating ICT contracts with suppliers and other contracts with our customers. You provide legal advice in the area of privacy and data. You provide proactive advice to the board and the business.
In short, as Senior Legal Counsel:
You work within a professional and enthusiastic legal team
Advise and support you in the field of ICT law, contract law and financial law
You proactively identify (potential) legal risks
Represent and/or support the organization during (legal) negotiations with corporate clients, suppliers and private clients
Take care of the content and design of model documents and model contracts
Contribute to proper complaint handling and dispute resolution
Contribute to awareness of (potential) legal risks related to contract partners and business processes
Contribute to the visibility of the Legal Team within the organization
Work closely with the business, Risk, Compliance & Privacy and Internal Audit, both at BTG and subsidiary level
Job requirements
What do you need for this position?
You are a strong professional with a proven track record in ICT contracts. You combine a critical and independent view with a proactive and 'hands-on' mentality. BTG is growing and therefore constantly on the move: you fit into such a dynamic working environment. You are a strong interlocutor, can connect, prioritize and switch quickly. You are a team player and know how to set the right tone with a change-oriented mentality.
In addition:
Do you have a completed academic master's degree in Law
At least 6 years of experience as a corporate lawyer or attorney, preferably supplemented by a Grotius degree
Knowledge of ICT and privacy law, contract law and/or financial law (banking and insurance law and/or supervisory legislation such as the Wft): experience with regulations on outsourcing in the financial sector (EBA/DORA) is a plus
Experience with- and/or interest in ESG laws and regulations is a plus
Are you pragmatic and think in solutions
Do you have strong writing skills, with an eye for detail and analytical ability
Do you have excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
