As Data Officer you are part of the Data Management team. The total team consists of 12 colleagues.


What will you do?

The Data Officer is responsible for ensuring the quality and suitability (fit-for-purpose) of the organization's data assets, including the metadata for those data assets, to Quion/BTG's external clients, the Money Lenders. You will also be responsible for drafting and implementing the Data Governance policy within Quion/BTG Group and actively contribute to the organization becoming data driven.

In short, as Data Officer you will be concerned with:

  • Perform structured information analysis (breakdown from concept definition to raw materials in source systems);

  • Responsible for implementation of data laws and regulations;

  • Describe and document the data journey and from that identify points where data transforms;

  • Establishes Data Governance policies and measures data quality processes against set targets;

  • Responsible for describing and updating data definitions and actively communicating this to all stakeholders;

  • Conducts periodic consultation with receiving parties within the Lenders on the data services provided from Quion/BTG and ensures adequate fulfillment of the agreements made;

  • Initiates automated checks on data flows through the mortgage chain;

  • Actively looks for inconsistencies and discrepancies in the data platform and drafts proposals to improve them;

  • Addresses internal stakeholders and data owners in their roles and supports them with insights on data usage and quality;

  • Handles data governance and data lineage issues and ensures policies and lineage are well documented;

  • Makes risk assessments for data misuse and responsible for formulating and monitoring mitigating measures;

  • Actively participates in consultations and reviews system and process changes against the data governance policy.

In addition

Masters working and thinking level and demonstrable possession of relevant degree;

  • At least 7 years of work experience in a similar position, of which at least 2 years in the financial sector;

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Data Governance processes;

  • Extensive knowledge of business and data analysis;

  • Knowledge of and experience with Collibra or similar Data Cataloging tools;

  • Knowledge of mortgage market products and business processes;

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;

  • Good command of the Dutch and English language.
