De Hypothekers Associatie (DHA) is based in Capelle aan den IJssel and is the umbrella organization to which approximately 180 franchise branches of De Hypotheker are affiliated. Approximately 800 employees work at De Hypotheker and we have been the undisputed market leader in independent, expert and personal mortgage advice for over 35 years. DHA employs about 75 enthusiastic employees, who together ensure that De Hypotheker formula can be carried out in the best possible way.

We are looking for a Privacy Officer
As a market leader in an environment where advice on financially complex products is given to consumers, DHA handles its customer data with care. In addition to the interests of customers, as DHA's Privacy Officer you also have to deal with various other interested parties and stakeholders on a daily basis. These include lenders, insurance companies, interest groups, internal and external regulators, franchisees and the employees of DHA and its branches. This makes the role as a privacy officer at DHA dynamic, varied and challenging. In daily practice, you are a motivating liaison and role model for privacy. The privacy officer has an independent and autonomous position within DHA. Participating in the group-wide privacy consultation between the Privacy Officers of the other operating companies within BTG and the Data Protection Officer.
The privacy officer has a functional relationship with the group privacy manager (Blauwtrust Group Holding) and reports to DHA's Head of Compliance & Privacy. The Head of Compliance & Privacy has a hierarchical relationship with the CEO of DHA.
Duties and responsibilities.
The Privacy Officer contributes to proper implementation and compliance with data protection and privacy laws and regulations. Increasing the organization-wide awareness regarding the lawful processing of personal data is very important in this regard and an essential part of the responsibility.


As Privacy Officer, you will be independently responsible for:

  • Further strengthening and professionalizing the privacy framework including the embedding and operation of the privacy PCDA cycle
  • Promoting compliance with relevant laws and regulations that oversee the protection of personal data, including the AVG Implementation Act;
  • Supporting and advising the organization in identifying and managing privacy risks and ensuring countervailing power by challenging, evaluating and monitoring risks and independently reporting on them;
  • Drafting and monitoring compliance with policy and related procedures and guidelines in accordance with the privacy framework;
  • Continuously keeping privacy and data protection issues alive and drawing attention to them, thus creating greater awareness to promote careful handling of personal data;
  • Periodically assessing privacy risks and adjusting management measures where necessary, monitoring compliance and determining necessary actions;
  • Coordinating and facilitating data protection impact assessments (DPIAs);
  • Assessing and handling data breaches (whether or not in agreement with the FG) and requests from data subjects;
  • Advising (solicited and unsolicited) on privacy-related issues and acting as an inquiry point;
  • Liaising with relevant regulators.

Job requirements

Knowledge and experience

  • Experienced professional with HBO+/WO working and thinking level with 3-5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Knowledge of relevant data protection laws and regulations. Some knowledge of financial legislation such as the Wft and Wwft is a plus;
  • A CIPP/e, CIPM or CIPT certification or willingness to obtain one;
  • You are critical, practical and hands-on;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • You are able to manage stakeholders and set priorities;
  • Knowledge of mortgage market products and business processes and/or franchise formulas is a plus.
